Iowa City Coralville
Boxing Club 501(c)(3)

mission statement

The Iowa City Coralville Boxing Club provides a supportive environment for all under privileged individuals ages 5 and up, including low-income individuals, those suffering from Parkinson’s disease, military service members & veterans, first responders including police, firefighters, and paramedics, mentally and physically disabled individuals, senior citizens, and those fighting addiction.

Our supportive environment consists of several structured introductory programs, several competitive athletic programs, multiple mentoring groups which will include assessment strategies that teach determination, life skills, discipline, positive self-esteem, while promoting exemplary citizenship and appreciation of and cooperation with our community’s institutions that serve the public good. We strive to bring the best to our communities and inspire the competitive spirit of athletics from recreational to the elite while meeting the needs and challenges our disadvantaged communities face every day. We care about every member of our community and that is why our vow is unity, honor, courage and commitment. Semper Fi.

EVERY KID SPORTS PASS

ICOR operates as both a for-profit martial arts gym and as a non-profit amateur boxing club. Our non-profit arm helps fund our amateur competition team and offers scholarships to low-income youths, ages 5 through senior in high school, who qualify based on their family's eligibility for SNAP benefits or Medicaid. For qualifying individuals ages 5 to 7 years old, monthly dues will be only $25 per month.  For eligible individuals ages 8 through high school seniors, we work with a program called Every Kid Sports Pass.

The dues are $150 for a three-month membership, but they are 100% free if you sign up for the program. Every Kid Sport will mail you a visa card with $150 that can only be used at our location. Once you receive the prepaid card, you can sign up for a 3-month paid-in-full membership HERE use the discount code EVERYKIDSPORT to reduce the fee from $450 to $150 and pay with the pre-paid card you received in the mail.

Availability is limited in our scholarship program, so scholarship recipients are required to attend classes at least twice weekly to make sure our limited resources are available to other eligible students who wish to participate.
If the child qualifies as low-income but is not eligible for Every Kid Sport Pass, we still have other options available. Please email us at icorboxing@gmail.com for more information. See the document below for application instructions.
