Hayley grew up in Iowa City and struggled to find what she wanted to do for a living. Finally, two years after high-school graduation she took one yoga class and knew this is what she was looking for. It wasn’t just a work out or hobby, it was a passion. She believes yoga is something that can change everyone’s lives. It is a way to take a step away from the crazy, stressful routine we find ourselves in and just breathe and move in our own bodies. After practicing yoga daily for a few short months, she made a commitment to a 200hr teacher program through Hot House Yoga Studio of Iowa City/Coralville. After graduating in May 2021, she started teaching that summer and currently has weekly classes at ICOR in Iowa City and Heat Yoga in North Liberty. She is looking to share her new found passion and hopes to bring as many people as she can a way to come back to their self. She is also certified in Level I & II of Reiki and is working towards more yoga teacher trainings and possibly a reiki master training.
Brooke is a student at the University of Iowa studying Geography and Sustainability and works on an organic vegetable farm. Soon after beginning college, she began practicing yoga at a local studio almost daily and found that yoga was a wonderful way to escape the stresses of being a working student. Amidst an isolating pandemic and craving more personal connections with like-minded people, Brooke signed up for a 200-hour registered yoga teacher training program at Hothouse studio in Iowa City. Through her teacher training she found that yoga served as much more than an escape, it also helped deepen her connection to her spirituality, her mindfulness practice, and taught her how to show up for herself. After beginning her work on an organic vegetable farm Brooke realized how useful yoga is outside of the studio. After long days doing repetitive and physically strenuous work, she found that her yoga practice had trained her to have proper posture and to use her legs and core to protect her lower back from chronic pain and soreness, a common injury among farmers. Brooke sees yoga as the bridge connecting her spirituality, mental health, and physical health and hopes to share her knowledge and love for yoga with her students.

Here at ICOR we take competition seriously. We have a very strong record and we intend to keep it that way through high standards and hard work. During training we work together as a team and as a family; constantly pushing each other to the peak of our abilities and the same time having fun while doing it. We compete in full contact sports, so it is imperative that we train diligently and dedicate ourselves to the fullest. We don't quit. However we have a motto: "as long as you tried your best, don't worry about it."

Because we are an exclusive club, we expect our fighters to carry themselves with honor, courage and humility, and to conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner. We have an absolute zero tolerance policy for disrespect, arrogance and bullying of any kind, both in and out of the ring. Our goal is to build skill, discipline, and confidence in a safe and inclusive environment so you can achieve your full potential.

To join our competition team, you will need to pass our fitness and sparring assessments as well as meet our attendance requirements. Our goal is to fight frequently, so we expect you to do your best to maintain a proper diet, stay well rested, and constantly keep working towards the betterment of yourself, both physically and mentally. Because we are a tight-knit fighting family, we expect a firm commitment from all our fighters. Accordingly, once you join our competition team, we expect your loyalty and respect in not joining another local competition team. We understand that we may not be the right fit for everyone, so if you do decide to continue your training elsewhere, we wish you the best, but we will consider your transition to be permanent. This means Trojan Horses need not apply.

Our mission is to create strong fighters and warriors of virtue. Therefore, we assume that as you gain experience, you will help those who are just starting their journey, as you once were. We believe in paying it forward. If you think you have what it takes and you're willing to give it your all to become a local legend, come to the gym with a positive mind set and a good work ethic. We are absolutely looking forward to working with you and growing stronger together!

Fight of the pit-bull, heart of a champion. Get hard-core with ICOR.
